Funk Software Announces Steel-Belted RadiusŪ for Linux

New Platform Support Gives Customers Flexibility to Deploy Leading RADIUS Server In Windows, Solaris and Linux Environments

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 1 -- Funk Software, a leading provider of network access security solutions, today announced that Steel-Belted Radius, its powerful RADIUS server that lets organizations centrally enforce a uniform network access security policy across all users, regardless of how they access the network, will run on the SuSE Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9) and Red Hat (Enterprise and Advanced Server 3) versions of Linux.

"More and more customers want to move their network security applications to Linux," said Joe Ryan, vice president of Funk Software. "By making Steel- Belted Radius -- a critical component of an enterprise's security strategy -- available on Linux, we are giving customers the most flexibility in architecting and enforcing network access security across their entire enterprise."

Steel-Belted Radius is an award-winning RADIUS/AAA server that lets administrators centrally manage all remote/VPN, WLAN and wired 802.1X users and equipment -- providing enhanced security, easier, more streamlined management and granular control over who can access the network and how. It runs on Windows, Solaris and Linux and is fully compliant with the RADIUS specification, the IEEE security standard 802.1X, and all popular WLAN protocols, including EAP-TTLS, EAP-PEAP, EAP-TLS and Cisco's LEAP. It integrates easily into an organization's network infrastructure, and can authenticate users accessing the network against a wide variety of authentication databases, including Windows Active Directory, SQL databases, LDAP directories such as Novell's eDirectory, and token systems such as the RSA Authentication Manager.

Pricing and Availability

Steel-Belted Radius on Linux is currently in beta and scheduled to be available in September 2005. Pricing for new customers is $4,995 per server for the Enterprise Edition, $12,000 per server for the Global Enterprise Edition, and $22,000 per server for the Service Provider Edition.

Steel-Belted Radius is available directly from Funk Software and through Funk Software's Inner Circle Partners, local system integrators and VARs, and from Ingram Micro, Tech Data, TerraWave Solutions, and WAV, Inc. It is available outside the US/Canada through Funk Software's network of authorized international partners. Steel-Belted Radius/Enterprise Edition and Steel- Belted Radius/Global Enterprise Edition are also available in an appliance form factor.
