August 30, 2005 - Targeted for compact lighting situations, Mini Dorado series is based on quad, flat, lead-free IC packaging and is reflow-solderable. Product features AlGaInP and InGaN die technologies and utilizes exposed pad design that aids with heat transfer. Available in white, blue, green, yellow, and red, RoHS-compliant LEDs can adapt to existing production systems and feature molded lenses as well as choice of 70º, 110º, or 125º viewing angles.

New Half-Watt Mini Dorado Features Smallest LED Footprint with High Lumen Output

Latham, New York: Marktech Optoelectronics today announced the availability of Cotco's new Mini Dorado series, to its broad line-up of high performance LEDs. Featuring the smallest Hi-Flux LED footprint on the market today, the Mini Dorado provides optical designers with a high lumen, low cost solution for producing compact products with optimum performance.

The Mini Dorado is ideal for compact lighting situations where reliability and high illumination are essential. Architects, manufacturers and designers can use the Mini Dorado for a wide variety of applications in areas such as automotive and traffic lighting, interior and exterior architectural design, entertainment, decorative and landscape lighting. The Mini Dorado can also be utilized in PDAs and other hand-held devices that demand brighter, higher power displays.

Based upon Quad, Flat, No-Lead IC packaging, the Mini Dorado provides the latest advances in LED technology. The device can solder with reflow equipment and adapt to existing production systems, requiring no additional hardware purchases. A molded lens offers a consistent, intense light output for unrivalled usage, consistency and reliability, while greatly decreasing vibration and shock failures. The Mini Dorado is also environmentally-friendly, delivering ultra thermal performance with an extremely stable packaging structure.

The Mini Dorado is lead-free, making it compliant with the EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive (RoHS). This directive restricts imported components or products to contain hazardous substances (e.g. lead, cadmium, mercury etc.) into entering the European Union and after 1st July 2006.
