The new kitting module from FastPic® Systems provides increased employee productivity, throughput and accuracy by allowing individual SKUs to be picked, stored and managed as a kit. The kitting module is designed for use by manufacturers for assembly or distribution.
Kitting is the storage and retrieval of multiple stock keeping units (SKUs) to create a new part in assembly operations. Kitting improves productivity by reducing stock picking time, balancing the work flow from multiple workzones, and increasing picking accuracy. This approach is used in a variety of manufacturing, assembly and service operations where several components must be combined to create a finished part or sub-assembly.
