SpanTech Introduces the Spiral Elevator as One of the Most Cost Effective Units for Changing Elevations

GLASGOW, KY: SpanTech LLC in Glasgow, Kentucky, USA, has introduced its Spiral Elevator. The Spiral Elevator is useful for cooling, curing and time delays. The product rests stationery on the spiral chain and travels up or down, with speeds up to 250 fpm (76.2 mpm). A Variable Frequency Drive comes standard and no controls are necessary. No pressure is applied to the product so the Spiral Elevator is ideal for delicate items such as books, butter or other easily damaged items. The unit can handle a wide range of product sizes (up to 10" [254 mm] in height) with no adjustments necessary; the product group needs only to fit within the product size envelope for each unit. Both the feed-in and feed-out have four positions available. The unit is available for clockwise or counterclockwise operation and can be ordered with drum diameter up to 30" (762mm) and chain width up to 9.67"(245.6mm) The unit features a top-mounted motor for ease of maintenance.

SpanTech, LLC, founded in 1978 by James L. "Bud" Layne, is the major player in the United States for plastic conveyor systems and manufactures the Designer System®, SpanTech's proprietary custom design conveyor line, and the WhisperTrax™ Modular Flexible Conveyor line. The Designer System® Conveyors are USDA approved and BISSC certified. Many of SpanTech's conveyors have run for many years with little or no maintenance and this has created repeat business from the company's customers. SpanTech® Designer System® conveyors are presently in use around the world. Large portions of original chain are still running on conveyors that have run six days a week for years, even in areas with high levels of contaminants.
