Compact Flat Panel PC delivers Pentium 4 performance.

Xycom Automation Announces the Launch of the New 4115T – Pentium 4 in a Compact Package
Saline, MI – August 12, 2005 – Xycom Automation, Inc., a subsidiary of Pro-face America, Inc. and a market leader in Industrial PCs, announces the launch of the 4115T flat panel industrial computer, adding to their Light-Duty offerings. The 4115T is a highly compact 15” LCD Flat Panel Industrial Computer with a high powered 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor.
The 4115T unit comes standard with a 15-inch flat panel LCD and analog resistive touchscreen. An Intel Pentium 4, 2.0 GHz with 533 MHz system bus and 512 KB CACHE allows this unit to run the most demanding factory automation applications available today. With its 4X AGP graphics controller with up to 64 MB video RAM it also can handle 3-D graphics with ease. With on-board 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports, parallel port, two RS-232 serial ports, one configurable RS-422/232/485 serial port, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, and an additional video port nearly any desired PC compatible device can be connected. If this variety of ports do not supply the desired connection the 4115T can easily accommodate a half-length PCI expansion card and Type II CompactFlash™ device. All this power and connectivity is contained in a package that is 12.17 inches (H) x 16.4 inches (W) and only 4.25 inches (D).
Pentium 4 processors offer increased speed and performance for highly intensive automation applications, however resulting in nearly double the power (wattage) required. Xycom’s many years of industrial experience has been incorporated into the design of this unit. “Xycom has responded to an increasing demand by industrial customers for Pentium 4 by adding a second system fan, additional LCD venting, and a direct CPU venting channel into the 4115T,” said Ralph Damato, Business Unit Manager, Industrial PC Products for Xycom Automation.
“However, this added heat being exhausted from the 4115T needs to be carefully considered when mounting a 4115T into and enclosure. Proper sizing, installation of a cooling device and/or venting needs to be evaluated for each application to insure that the maximum ambient operating temperature inside the enclosure is not exceeded,” continues Damato.
The 4115T offers several mounting options including panel mounting in a NEMA enclosure, mounting to the wall using the included bracket, or mounting to a VESA standard arm. The rear of the unit contains threaded holes for 75 and 100 mm VESA mounting. When panel mounted the 4115T only extends 4.0 inches into the enclosure. The 4115T carries the European CE mark and includes UL and cUL agency approvals. It operates in 0°C to 50°C environments and can be ordered with Windows 2000 or XP. It can also be configured with up to 1.0 GB of memory (256 MB standard) or with optional rotating media devices up to a DVD-R/W (CD-ROM is standard).
