Transmitter/Receiver carries KVM signals 3,300 ft.

August 22, 2005 - Able to transmit PS/2, USB, Sun keyboard and mouse signals plus DVI or VGA video, fiber-optic KVME 1000 utilizes technology that combines all electronic input and output signals into one optical KVM signal. Transmitter and receiver convert all KVM signals into all supported formats, enabling use of keyboard, video, and mouse simultaneously at both local and remote ends of circuit. KVME 1000 also supports BNC stereo emitter audio signals.

KVM Signals Now Extend to 3,300 Feet

Conventional copper-wire KVMs fade out at about 500 ft. But the new fiber-optic KVME 1000 from CyberResearch, Inc. carries signals up to 3,300 ft. You can transmit PS/2, USB, or Sun keyboard and mouse signals plus DVI or VGA video signals while using the same or a different set of signals at the remote end.

The CyberResearch® KVME 1000 transmitter-receiver pair uses optical technology to stretch cable distances up to 3,300 ft. Its advanced electronic technology combines all electronic input and output signals into one optical KVM signal, giving you many more options than you get with conventional KVMs.

First, you can have an operational keyboard, video, and mouse simultaneously at both the local and remote ends of the circuit. Because the transmitter and receiver automatically convert all KVM signals into all supported formats, you can input PS/2, USB, or Sun keyboard and mouse signals and use the same or a different set of signals at the remote end. Likewise, you can input DVI or VGA signals and use the same or opposite video signals at the remote end. The KVME 1000 also supports BNC stereo emitter audio signals.

In addition to optical KVMs priced from $5995 — now shipping from stock — CyberResearch, Inc., also offers conventional KVMs, as well as panel-mount and rack-mount PCs, displays, accessories, data-acquisition, and motion-control systems.
