AXIOMTEK Co. Ltd. has announced the latest addition to its FASTORA network storage solutions with the new NAS-104AW server appliance. Built for data centers and sharing platforms, the FASTORA NAS-104AW is combined with an affordable yet high-performance Serial ATA (SATA)-based NAS solution, and incorporated with the Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 operating system to meet the demands of easy to use document management. In addition, adding the backup and instant recovery softwareâ€”ExBoot, the FASTORA NAS-104AW provides a fault tolerant storage solution for SMBâ€™s and entry-level enterprise storage platforms.

The FASTORA NAS-104AW is a high-performance 1U NAS-Engine featuring IntelÂ® PentiumÂ® 4 processors up to 3.4GHz or IntelÂ® CeleronÂ® processors up to 2.8GHz, up to 4GB of RAM, and 4 hot-swappable drive trays accommodating 3.5" SATA drives. It is equipped with dual gigabit Ethernet connectivity for trunking and fail-over management to offer network fault tolerance, which is highly efficient for mass data transmission. The FASTORA NAS-104AW makes effective file sharing across heterogeneous environments simple: environments like Windows, UNIX, and Macintosh platforms. The server also supports TCP/IP, CIFS, NFS, HTTP, FTP, and AppleTalk protocols. The PCI expansion slot can be leveraged for enterprise needs to connect to Direct Attached Storage (DAS) and/or tape devices.

The FASTORA NAS-104AW utilizes MicrosoftÂ® Windows Storage Server 2003 which features simple management and a low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) to assist data centralizing and backup. It strengthens data protection by providing OS failover, Mirroring, VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service), and more. The VSS makes backup data readily available to clients, even with recovery version options, which ensures that data is being used more flexibly and efficiently. For IT administrators, the FASTORA NAS-104AW can work with their current business investments. These include server management infrastructures, such as the Virtual Disk Service, Distributed File System (DFS), and Storage Management Service.
