New Series of Switch Point Protectors Expands Line to Include 141-Pound Rail
The Nolan Company’s new series of switch point protectors includes four models, accommodating rails sized from 85 to 141 pounds.
Nolan’s switch point protector increases the service life of switch points by absorbing the impact of passing railcar wheels. The protector momentarily deflects the wheel flange from the tip of the switch point.
With each deflection Nolan’s manganese-steel, switch point protector becomes stronger. The switch point protector is reversible—when it wears on one side, it can be turned over and remounted, doubling its service life.
