AXIOMTEK’s GOT-1840T brings a compact-size, fanless HMI solution to rugged environments

August 04, 2005, Taipei, Taiwan -- AXIOMTEK's GOT-1840T is a fanless compact-size panel computer which is designed particularly for heavy-duty environments. The platform is equipped with an 8.4” TFT LCD and low power consumption CPU, the VIA Eden with a 667MHz clock speed. It is a good choice for rugged applications in need of temperature ranges between -10° to 50°Celsius, and more incredibly, the GOT-1840T has passed all shock and vibration tests (at 1.3G under operating mode with hard drive disk).

“The GOT-1840T is a well-designed platform suitable for human machine interface and industrial automation applications” said Alex Hsueh, Product Manager of the Industrial Automation Division. “The integration of a fanless kernel, touchscreen and non-volatile storage makes this machine a reliable solution for industrial or critical environments.”

The panel computer supports varied embedded operating systems, including Windows® 98/NT/2000/XP, Windows® CE.NET, Windows® XP embedded, and Linux. High-speed Ethernet as well as RS-232/422/485 serial ports provide seamless communication ability for users. The GOT-1840T creates opportunities for automation through the internet. A 2.5” HDD or CompactFlashTM card slot is reserved for storage, and a 16-bit PC/104 slot can be used for extended communication cards or a DA&C card, or even a PC/104 motion card.

The GOT-1840T is in a slim dimension design. With standard IP65 and NEMA 4/12 certified rugged protection, the panel computer can be utilized perfectly in industrial harsh environments. The 200nits TFT LCD supports resolution at 800 x 600 pixels. In addition, the GOT-1840T provides a fuse to protect the system from being damaged by over-voltage.

This ideal industrial-grade panel computer, the GOT-1840T, can be applied to several industrial or commercial projects, such as transportation, factory automation, Human Machine Interface, and more. Multiple mounting ways include panel mount, desktop, wall mount and VESA ARM to benefit users.
