Hudson Color Launches Everlast(TM) Concentrates for More Environmental Value With Recycled Thermoplastics

LEOMINSTER, Mass., Jun. 30, 2005 - Hudson Color Concentrates, an industry leader in the manufacture of engineered colorants for plastics processing, announces the availability of its EverLast(TM) line of color concentrates formulated specifically for achieving greater value when processing recycled thermoplastics. The new line has been specifically formulated for use with resins reprocessed from industrial scrap and post-consumer sources. Currently EverLast(TM) concentrates are available in ten standard colors ranging from popular wood tones to attractive tropical-colored hues, or can be custom matched to meet a processor's specific color requirement. EverLast(TM) concentrates are designed for use with recycled thermoplastic resins such as PET, PVC, PP, PS and HDPE. Hudson Color's proprietary compounding and pigment loading process has created a line of concentrates that is particularly attractive to industry processors of all types wanting to increase production of environmentally conscious products with better appeal and more value for a wide range of customers.

Hudson Color Vice President of Sales and Marketing David Boudreau, explains that many consumer and industrial products on the market today are typically manufactured with virgin plastics or natural materials like wood. However, many of these applications are faced with increasing economic or environmental pressure and are being appraised for their potential suitability for recycled materials. "Converting from virgin to regrind material for an application poses processing and end use challenges, particularly when it comes to color and overall cycle cost value," he said. "With our line of EverLast colorants we provide processors with advantages in consistent color match and hold, better dispersion and improved appearance, as well improved cycle times or output." EverLast(TM) concentrates are engineered for use with regrind thermoplastic resins recycled from industrial scrap and post-consumer sources. Suitable for a wide range of consumer, architectural/construction, and industrial applications, typical end uses for EverLast(TM) concentrates include building materials such as roof shingles, window and door frames; playground structures; outdoor spas and patio furniture; shipping pallets or drainage pipes; and, housewares or hand tools.

Broadly recognized for its ability to produce color concentrates of the highest quality with batch-to-batch consistency in relatively short lead times, Hudson Color Concentrates produces an extensive line of specially engineered colorants and additives for all thermoplastics. Whether it's a standard line of concentrates or custom matched to customer requirements, all Hudson Color products are innovative solutions to challenging applications in building/construction, electrical, wire and cable, packaging, housewares, medical, personal care products industries.

Hudson Color Concentrates is a privately held company that provides a range of products and services to the plastics industry, including custom color and additive concentrates, dry color, and pre-colored (stock) materials for injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, compression or rotational molding and compounding processes. Hudson Color Concentrates is ISO 9001:2000 certified, and maintains production, sales and warehouse operations in the United States and Mexico.
