Servo Controller/Driver works with microstep motors.

August 5, 2005 - Featuring sixteen 5–24 Vdc, isolated, bi-directional I/O and 4 analog inputs, SilverDust IGB provides closed loop control for NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 frame I-Grade motor/encoders. Single-axis unit accepts 12–48 Vdc input power and has voltage clamp circuit that dissipates excess power regenerated during rapid decelerations. Along with breakouts for power, communications, and I/O, product has 32K non-volatile memory, PVIA™ servo loop, and electronic gearing.

SilverDust IGB - Servo Controller/Driver for Microstep Motors with 16 I/O

Quicksilver Controls, Inc., known for its ability to servo microstep motors, releases its most feature rich single axis controller/driver yet. The SilverDust IGB, part of the SilverLode controller family, is designed to servo, Quicksilver's high torque NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 frame I-Grade motor/encoders and includes breakouts for power, communications and I/O. Closed loop control (servo) of a stepper motor, provides all the accuracy of a traditional servomotor but with superior torque for applications up to a few thousand RPM and at a lower cost.

The IGB accepts 12-48V DC input power and includes a voltage clamp circuit to dissipate excess power regenerated during rapid decelerations. The IGB comes with sixteen 5-24VDC, isolated, bi-directional I/O and 4 analog inputs. When the IGB is combined with an I-Grade motor and cable, motor and encoder wiring errors are eliminated; the IGB combines both motor power and encoder signals into a single cable interface. The IGB also simplifies motor/encoder commissioning, by reading encoder resolution, motor type and alignment information from the I-Grade motor's on-board, non-volatile memory.

The IGB also includes the other features of the SilverLode family, such as simple point to point moves, advanced profile moves, Anti-Hunt™, 100:1 inertial miss-match, PVIA™ servo loop, electronic gearing, carning and 32K non-volatile memory, while quadrupling both user program buffer size and user register space.

For more details, see the datasheets on Quicksilver's website.
