Flame Detectors provide high false alarm immunity.

July 29, 2005 - Microcontroller-based, ATEX-approved UV/IR Model FL3110 and UV Model FL3111 include flicker-discrimination circuitry and self-checking continuous optical path monitoring to ensure fire protection. Both feature segregated wiring compartment where field terminations can be made without exposing ex-proof section to elements. Electronics are integral within stainless steel explosion-proof housing, allowing information to be processed at point of detection.

New UV/IR and UV-Only Flame Detectors Provide High False-Alarm Immunity with ATEX Approval

Ideal for Oil Refineries, Offshore Drilling Platforms, Fuel Loading Facilities and LNG & LPG Plants

LAKE FOREST, CA—July 25, 2005--With advanced ultraviolet and infrared sensing technologies, the new FL3110 UV/IR and FL3111 UV-Only Series Flame Detectors from General Monitors are virtually immune to false alarms while sensing unwanted fires to provide accurate, reliable and secure protection of people, equipment and facilities in hazardous applications and industries.

Designed using advanced ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) flame sensing elements, the microcontroller-based FL3110 and FL3111 Flame Detectors are ATEX-approved for use in the European community. They represent the state-of-the-art in secure, reliable and dependable flame monitoring. Highly accurate built-in flicker-discrimination circuitry and self-checking Continuous Optical Path Monitoring (COPM) ensure exceptional fire protection, with freedom from the worry of false alarms. Both feature a segregated Increased Safety wiring compartment whereby the field terminations may be made without exposing the Ex-proof section to the elements.

Both the FL3110 and FL3111 feature a wide field of view (FOV), covering a greater area to reduce the number of detectors necessary for flame detection. They are ideal for a wide range of applications within the oil/gas, chemical, automotive and aviation industry. Typical applications include offshore drilling and production platforms, refineries, fuel loading stations, gas pipeline compressor stations, electrostatic paint spray booths and aircraft hangars.

The Model FL3110 is an Ultraviolet/Infrared (UV/IR) flame detector designed to detect unwanted fires and provide alarm outputs directly from the detector while maintaining false alarm immunity. The FL3110's electronics are integral within its stainless steel explosion-proof housing, allowing detector information to be processed at the point of detection.

The Model FL3111 is an Ultraviolet (UV) flame detector designed to detect unwanted fires and provide alarm outputs directly from the detector while maintaining false alarm immunity. The FL3111's electronics are integral within its stainless steel explosion-proof housing, allowing detector information to be processed at the point of detection. The FL3110 and FL3111 were designed to complement the company’s existing FL3112 Flame Detector, which is also designed for the European community with ATEX approval. The Model FL3112 is a Digital Frequency Infrared (DFIR) flame detector designed to detect unwanted fires, and provide alarm outputs directly from the detector while maintaining high false alarm immunity in onshore/offshore applications. It is available with either a stainless steel or bronze (AB2) body, offering a choice for corrosion resistance in offshore applications.
