Ports provide strong welds onto hydraulic cylinders.
July 29, 2005 - Stud Weldable Hydraulic Ports can be welded onto hydraulic cylinders in less than 1 second with minimal heat distortion, eliminating refinishing operations. Cross-sectional weld minimizes failures and leaks. Constructed of mild steel, ports may be threaded internally or externally. They are suited for hydraulic cylinder manufacturers serving industrial equipment, construction, farm machinery, and off-highway equipment industries.

Image's Stud Weldable Hydraulic Ports Provide Extremely Strong Welds onto Hydraulic Cylinders in Less than One Second
Image Industries, a leader in stud welding, announces that its stud weldable hydraulic ports allow far quicker, stronger welds onto hydraulic cylinders compared with the manual welding process. Image's stud weldable ports are easily welded onto hydraulic cylinders in less than one second compared with manual welding, which can take from one to several minutes. This dramatic time reduction will help hydraulic cylinder manufacturers increase their productivity and cut costs. The ports are suited for hydraulic cylinder manufacturers serving the general industrial equipment, construction, farm machinery, and off-highway equipment industries, as well as many other applications.
Stud weldable hydraulic ports permit a stronger weld with less heat distortion of the cylinder. The weld is structurally stronger because it is a full cross-sectional weld, which reduces failures and leaks, rather than the typical manual weld around the perimeter. Heat distortion in the cylinder is minimized due to the fast welding time, which prevents heat buildup within the cylinder. With less cylinder distortion, refinishing operations are eliminated.
Image's stud weldable hydraulic ports are all customized in a wide variety of configurations to meet customer's specifications. Constructed of mild steel, they may be threaded internally or externally. Welding the ports onto the cylinders is performed using stud welding equipment, available from Image in a full array of handheld, robotic or customized designs in 1,200 or 2,000 Amp three phase units.
