Wilcoxon Releases iT Communication Module

Gaithersburg, MD - July 2005 - Wilcoxon Research, a leading supplier of quality vibration sensors, is proud to announce the release of the iT Communication Module, the only stand-alone digital communication unit for vibration transmitters available today. The iT Communication Module greatly simplifies data acquisition and analysis by sending digital vibration data directly to your computer via an RS232 serial port.

The iT Communication Module lets you monitor machine health directly from your workstation without the investment of a costly monitoring system. "The iT Communication Module demonstrates Wilcoxon's dedication to innovation and our pledge of Total Lower Cost of Ownership," said Tom Smith, Director of Sales & Marketing at Wilcoxon Research. "It is unlike any product available, making Wilcoxon first in the industry to offer Maintenance Professionals online monitoring with such significant capability at this low price."

The iT Communication Module works in conjunction with Wilcoxon's free VibeLink(TM) software, giving you the ability to trend data over time without an external monitoring system. The DIN-rail mounted module plugs into a TBUS connector and receives vibration data from the iT Transmitter, Wilcoxon's signal conditioner. The two units automatically exchange data without another power source or external wiring. The digital vibration data is then transmitted by the iT Communication Module to your PC or laptop and can be trended and displayed in real time on your monitor.

The iT Communication Module continuously reads the internal calibration, configuration, and operation data of the iT Transmitter, while the supplied VibeLink software displays the information on your PC with both graphing and datalogging capabilities. VibeLink not only shows the -3dB passband corner frequencies of the iT Transmitter, it also graphically illustrates the entire passband performance.

Up to eight iT Communication Modules can be "daisy chain" linked to one serial port on the computer. The eight modules can monitor individual iT Transmitters, each reporting the vibration signal of a single sensor. An added benefit of the iT Communication Module is an internal temperature sensor that provides digital trending information related to the enclosure temperature where each module is installed.

Wilcoxon's iT Communication Module is ideal for Condition Based Monitoring programs that utilize vibration monitoring of fans, motors, pumps, blowers, compressors, chillers, gearboxes, and mixers, as well as many other industrial applications.

The iT Communication Module is the third product in Wilcoxon's intelligent Transmitter Series. The previously released iT Transmitter and iT Alarm are designed to integrate seamlessly into your existing PLC or DCS. To purchase an iT Communication Module, or for more information on the iT Series, or to learn about Wilcoxon's pledge of Total Lower Cost (TLC) of Ownership, visit www.Wilcoxon.com, call 1-800-WILCOXON, or send an email to Sensors@Wilcoxon.com.

For over 40 years, Wilcoxon Research has been committed to providing innovative vibration instrumentation, backed by outstanding customer service and a generous warranty. Wilcoxon's pledge of Total Lower Cost (TLC) of Ownership means that you won't waste time and money replacing failed sensors or waiting for items with long lead times. Wilcoxon Research is a subsidiary of UK-based Meggitt PLC, an international group of companies renowned for their specialized engineering skills.
