Self-Contained Data Logger records shock/vibration data.

July 25, 2005 - Taking data only when trigger level is exceeded, Spectral Vibration Recorder logs acceleration data for spectral analysis. It records and time tags 3-axis vibrations and peaks and logs temperature once every sample period. Using FFT from 0–63.5 Hz, unit measures and computes real-time spectral data. It features settable trigger levels and built-in accelerometers. Basic data window is 2 sec, but XYZ magnitude data can be averaged over periods up to 2 hr.

Hoyt Announces the Spectral Vibration Recorder

PENACOOK, NH — July 14, 2005— Hoyt Electrical Instrument Works announced the immediate availability of the Spectral Vibration Recorder (SVR), the newest Shock/Vibration data logger. The SVR is a self-contained device engineered to record acceleration data for spectral analysis of vibration and peaks. It will record and time tag 3-axis vibrations and peaks to provide a history of shock/vibration conditions. It also records temperature once every sample period. The SVR measures and computes real-time spectral data using a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) from 0 to 63.5 Hertz. To make efficient use of memory, the SVR only takes data when the trigger level is exceeded. It features user settable trigger levels as well as built-in accelerometers. The basic data window is 2 seconds but the XYZ magnitude data can be averaged over longer sample periods of up to 2 hours. The SVR Data Recorder Software makes data retrieval quick and easy. Simply connect the SVR to an empty com port on the PC. Once offloaded to a PC, the information can be graphed, analyzed and presented using the Windows-based software or easily exported to a 3-D graph in Excel.

With so many great features, the Spectral Vibration Recorder (SVR) has can be utilized in a number of applications. Some applications are transportation/shipping, machinery failure detection, detecting mechanical resonances, endurance testing, wind resonance on structures and supports, vehicle vibration, race car diagnostics and materials research.
