Ultrasonic Water Softening System Cuts Cost for Any System Using Water

Hard-water problems can be solved quickly and effectively with a non-intrusive ultrasonic water softening system that works without chemicals, salt or filters to tackle limescale and improve water quality.

The environmentally friendly and easy-to-install Oasis system, from UK-based Waterite, is suitable for industrial, commercial and domestic use. It removes calcium from water pipes, prevents the build-up of damaging limescale, removing any existing deposits, and reduces odors like chlorine and sulfur. It is thought to be the first time that ultrasonic technology has been applied to solve these problems.

Oasis works by transmitting ultrasonic radio waves throughout the water system. These cause acoustic cavitation, which prevents calcium particles from attaching to pipe surfaces and joints, and breaking down to powder any existing calcium deposits. Chlorine, fluoride and sulfur odors, sulfates and iron discoloration can also be reduced or removed altogether by the system.

The elimination of limescale has numerous benefits for both commercial and domestic users. It helps to maintain the efficiency of water-heating systems and pump flow rates; it reduces the need for regular strip-down and descaling; it helps to prevent premature failure of plant and equipment; and it prevents limescale marks on taps and sinks.

According to Waterite, by softening the water, the Oasis system reduces the amount of detergent and chemicals required for washing and other processes by up to 30% and can improve the quality of results for any process using water.

The Oasis system is available in a range of sizes (measuring up to 15in×15in×8in). These can be floor- or wall-mounted, or fixed to items or equipment, according to size and application.

Oasis, which has been awarded a US patent, is installed by simply winding aerial wires around plastic or metal water pipes and connecting to a mains electricity supply. No plumbing, maintenance or servicing is required and it carries a three-year guarantee. The company claims that the system pays for itself though cost savings within months rather than years.

The company would welcome inquiries from potential distributors.
