New Kurt HDL ClusterTowers™ Provide Eight Clamping Stations With Large 4 Inch Openings for High Density Clamping – They Have Machinable Quick Change Jaws for Flexible and Fast Setups
Minneapolis, Minnesota: Kurt advances the workholding market again with its new generation HDL ClusterTowers™. Providing repeatable clamping to 0.001 inch, these towers hold multiple parts in eight clamping stations for maximizing machine cycle times. They are available with a full range of holding options, are very quick to load and provide the most versatile high density workholding available in the industry.
Kurt HDL ClusterTowers are designed for use on mid-size and larger machining centers including horizontal and vertical machining centers with a fourth axis. These tower systems maximize multiple part workholding for best spindle utilization, reducing tool change time while reducing machine travel from part to part.
Kurt HDL ClusterTowers have quick change jaws to save setup time. With a half-turn of a hex key, the stationary jaw lifts off the vise module of the tower. The jaw resets and self-aligns quickly without special tools. Spring pre-load design insures fast, easy loading of parts.
Another important feature of these towers is the self-adjusting holding block of either front or back jaw for clamping the same or dissimilar sized parts. To further enhance fast operation, an adjustable pre-load feature reduces handle turns for opening and closing clamping stations.
Clamping stations within the tower have 6 inch width and 4 inch opening. Each station delivers up to 6,316 lbs. of clamping force at 70 lbs. of torque with clamping repeatability to 0.001 inch.
HDL ClusterTowers are available with quick-change machinable aluminum, cast iron or hard jaws. The HDL Tower clamping station design, along with machinable jaws on two faces, makes possible maximum density workholding.
Constructed of 80,000 PSI ductile iron bodies with precision machined steel components, HDL ClusterTowers provide rugged strength, extra rigidity and long-term accuracy while absorbing machining vibration. Like all Kurt Vise products, HDL ClusterTowers are backed by Kurt’s exclusive lifetime Iron Clad™ warranty for workmanship and materials.
