Overview

IBM Tivoli® OMEGAMON XE for CICS® on z/OS® combines the functions offered by OMEGAMON XE for CICS and OMEGAMON XE for CICSPlex® into a single product. A significant number of additional new data metrics and reports monitor important operational areas of the CICS Transaction Server 3.1, such as:

TCP/IP and TCP/IP services

Dispatcher status, TCB modes, and TCB pools

Java™ Virtual Machine status, pools, class cache, programs, and profiles

Detailed task activity include all of the data found in OMEGAMON II for CICS

The attributes supplied with these reports, plus a number of other new data reports, can be used in situations and policies that raise alerts or invoke automation scripts.

The availability of the new data metrics in this release assist users in reducing the amount of time required to detect, isolate, and resolve problems associated with CICS applications. In addition, the merging of the XE for CICS and the XE for CICSPlex into a single product simplify ordering and installation of the product, reducing your overall cost of ownership.
