Masterbatches minimize scrap in injection molding process.

July 1, 2005 - Intended for use with engineering thermoplastics, Performance Plus™ color and additive masterbatches are formulated to lower resin viscosity during processing and optimize pigment and additive distribution. Lower viscosity allows injection molders to shorten cycle times by processing at lower temperatures. Masterbatches are not reactive or toxic, do not migrate, and are safe in all forms of use. They are effective in both unfilled and filled engineering thermoplastics.

Ampacet 'Performance Plus™ Masterbatches for Engineering Thermoplastics Reduce Cycle Time, Energy Use, Scrap

Performance Plus Increase Injection Molding Productivity 15% to 20%

Tarrytown, NY, June 13, 2005 - Ampacet Corporation has extended its line of Performance Plus™ color and additive masterbatches for use with engineering thermoplastics, including nylon, polycarbonate, ABS, styrene acrylonitrile and polyester. These masterbatches increase productivity in injection molding and extrusion by 15 to 20 percent compared to those containing conventional pigments and additives. By improving processability, Ampacet's Performance Plus™ color and additive masterbatches reduce unit conversion costs and energy use, and often decrease scrap generation.

Performance Plus masterbatches are formulated to lower resin viscosity during processing and improve pigment and additive distribution. The lower viscosity allows injection molders to shorten cycle times by processing at lower temperatures and permits extrusion processes to be sped up. The improved pigment and additive distribution results in the production of more consistent parts and reduced purge times.

"Performance Plus masterbatches were introduced for use with polyolefins in 2004, and we are extending them to engineering thermoplastics," says Rich Novomesky, Market Manager. "In order to ensure our customers get the most from these masterbatches, we offer them an optimization process. This involves working with our customers to audit and adjust their molding or extrusion equipment so all elements operate at peak efficiency."
Performance Plus masterbatches are not reactive or toxic, do not migrate, and are safe in all forms of use. They are effective in both unfilled and filled engineering thermoplastics.
