SATO America, Inc. Introduces XLe Series Printers for the Apparel and Retail Industry

High-speed, intelligent, and durable…raising the bar for tag, label, and price ticket variable data printers

CHARLOTTE, NC – June 7, 2005 – SATO Corporation, a global leader in barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions, today announced the launch of its new line of tag and label printers, the XLe Series. Available as direct thermal or thermal transfer, the XL400e and XL410e are the latest offerings in a long line of high quality, industrial thermal printers.

SATO’s XLe Series tag and label printers, which print, cut, and stack, are ideal for the textile tag and ticketing industries including apparel labeling, retail tags, hang tags, and lumber tags. The movable sensor allows for an endless choice of media. The intelligent printhead regulates the printing temperature, which optimizes the print quality, while the use of the cutter and stacker enable the user to select a solution suitable for their individual application.

A state-of-the-art, 32-Bit RISC processor is at the heart of SATO’s XLe Series tag and label printers, ensuring a high performance, high-speed printing process. Featuring SATO’s well-known industrial chassis, as well as a heavy-duty print mechanism and cutter assembly, the XLe Series can tackle even the most demanding print jobs with ease.

“We feel the XLe Series is an extremely competitively priced family of printers for a variety of channels in the retail industry. Its robust strength and durability, extremely fast processing speed, and hardened cutter mechanism is sure to make the XLe a winning product for retail customers,” said Phil Koch, marketing manager at SATO America.

The XLe Series printers are Windows® compatible and support a wide range of Linear and 2-D symbologies. Additional features include a print speed of 8 inches per second at 203 dpi, 2 MB of standard memory, and a standard Serial RS232C interface. Optional plug-in interfaces including Parallel – IEEE1284 (ECP), Ethernet (10/100BaseT), and Wireless 802.11b are available, as well as a real time calendar/clock, stacker, memory expansion, and memory card interface board.

SATO’s new XLe Series tag and labeling printers are fast, intelligent, high quality, and dependable… ideal for today’s demanding labeling applications.
