Atlas™ Maxtite® Blind Threaded Inserts Ideal for High-Load Attachment Applications
Heavy-duty Atlas™ MaxTite® blind threaded inserts feature a thicker head and heavier wall than standard types to serve ideally in demanding high-load applications. These fasteners provide permanent metal threads in “blind” attachment applications, where only one side of a workpiece is accessible for fastener installation and final component assembly. They represent practical alternatives to tapped holes, weld nuts, rivets, and self-drilling or tapping screws.
An added advantage is that during fastener installation, several thin sheets of dissimilar materials can be assembled and then final components can be attached. This capability eliminates any need to perform spot welding or other secondary operations, saving production steps, time, and costs.
Installed from the accessible “front” side of a workpiece, Atlas MaxTite blind threaded inserts can be utilized in panels as thin as .020”/0.51mm. Their use eliminates any need for additional hardware besides a mating screw to complete component attachment.
Available types include flathead and countersunk (with the countersunk feature enabling the fastener to be installed flush with the surface of a sheet). Rib or key features are offered for high-torque applications. Thread sizes range from #4-40 through 1/2”-13 and M3 through M12.
Unlike weld nuts or press-in type nuts, Atlas MaxTite threaded rivet nuts can be installed permanently anywhere and at any stage in the shop or field utilizing a hand-held portable tool.
