New Literature Showcases New Roll Splitting Machinery

Literature Unveils Machines That Remove Waste Material From Cardboard Cores

Full Color Photography Demonstrates Safety Benefit vs. Dangerous Razor Knives

Newark, DE: A new product data sheet from trim, waste and scrap solution provider Precision AirConvey, Newark, Del. (www.precisionairconvey.com), showcases the new PAC Model 30 Roll Splitter and the larger Model 72 Roll Splitter. The full color literature details how the sophisticated machinery automatically removes defective and/or out-of-spec stretch film, paper, foil and other material from their heavy, cardboard cores, permitting purity-assured reclamation of both the waste and the core.

Developed for plastics processors, converters and others, the informative literature describes how the automatic PAC machinery replaces dangerous, time-intensive manual methods for roll removal, such as the use of razor knives, with an advanced array of safety features for maximum personnel protection. The literature highlights designed-in safety mechanisms such as a safety gate and mandrel that must be closed and secured to permit operation, and a see-through safety cage for visual monitoring during operation, among others.

Featuring full color photography, the literature displays the two robust machines with their safety gates closed for operation and open for loading film onto the mandrel as well as in a side-by-side position for easy comparison of size and footprint. Specifications including footprint, maximum roll length and maximum roll diameter are shown. The literature also documents PAC's expansive guarantee, stating the company stands by its machinery, which is to perform as specified.

PAC Roll Splitters Automatically Remove Plastic Film, Foil and Paper Waste from Cardboard Cores

• Safeguard personnel with OSHA-approved safety system

• Uncover cost savings by reusing material and cores, reassigning personnel

• Speed the waste removal and recycling processes

• Manage roll sizes up to 72 inches in length

Put an end to the dangerous razor-cutting and chopping methods your people use to remove paper, film, foil, nonwovens and other waste materials from their cardboard cores. In as little as eight seconds, our PAC Roll Splitters automatically separate defective and/or out-of-spec material from the core, safely and cleanly removing it for easy recycling and reclamation. Since there is no contact with the core, risk of fiber contamination is eliminated, waste purity is assured and the cores may be reused. One-person operation is smooth, safe and simple.

Cuts from razor knives are the cause of approximately 153,000 workplace injuries a year in private industry alone. Many of these result from using hand-held razor knives to manually cut plastic film and other materials from cardboard cores, a dangerous method that cuts into production, unnerves employees and raises red flags among safety inspectors. Manual methods also require 30 minutes or more per roll while PAC roll splitters complete the job in eight seconds.

PAC Roll Splitters combine a slate of safety advances for maximum personnel protection:

• Safety interlock on safety surround - gate must be closed to permit operation

• Safety interlock on mandrel locking device - roll must be secured to permit operation

• Full guarding around knife - exposed only during operation

• Knife Holder Safety Pin - must be removed to operate machine

• Two-hand operating control panel

• See-through safety cage - safely oversee roll splitting during operation
