RFID Labeling Solution features all-in-one design.

June 15, 2005 - Incorporating Sato or Zebra thermal printer, 3600RW Label Printer/Applicator allows users to print, validate, write, and affix variable RFID labels at speeds up to 30 labels/min. Read/write head inspects each transponder at point of label application. Acceptable transponder labels are written to with real time information and tamp-blow applied, while labels with defective transponders are detected and discarded.

MPI Label Systems Offers New 3600RW as Total RFID Labeling Solution

SEBRING, OH - April 19, 2005 - The new 3600RW Label Printer/Applicator from MPI Label Systems now allows users to print, validate, write and affix variable RFID labels in a single process, eliminating the need for pre-printed RFID labels. The 3600RW builds on the successful design of MPI's 360RW Label Applicator by incorporating the use of a Sato or Zebra thermal printer.

"The 3600RW's all-in-one design allows the end-user to incorporate RFID directly into the content and shipping label -right at the point of shipping," said MPI president Randy Kocher. "This will be of particular benefit to higher-volume manufacturers currently labeling cases with thermal printed labels."

The new device prints, validates, writes and affixes an RFID label in real time at speeds up to 30 labels per minute. Other systems require writing to the transponder before the point of label application. In that information and production requirements change frequently, users could end up with a pre-written roll of labels with inaccurate transponder information.

The 3600RW also allows suppliers to achieve increased RFID labeling accuracy. The read/write head of the 3600RW inspects each transponder at the point of label application to make sure it is good. Labels with defective transponders are detected and discarded. This assures 100 percent viable tags as they start through the supply chain. Acceptable transponder labels are then immediately written to with real time information and tamp-blow applied.

The 3600RW eliminates both the need for advance programming and having to maintain a large stock of expensive transponder embedded material. And, while transponders can be manually programmed at the point of placement it is not possible to achieve the label placement speed or accuracy of the 3600RW Label Printer/Applicator.
