June 15, 2005 - Meldin 7001 polyimide material was developed for manufacturing cap holders for beverage packaging industry. Machined holders constructed from Meldin 7001 position plastic cap during hot welding process that connects cap to carton. With heat resistance up to 600°F, high purity material is available in stock shapes for machining or as custom molded components.

Meldin® 7001 Used in the Packaging Industry

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has developed Meldin 7001 polyimide materials to be used for cap holders in the beverage packaging industry. In a beverage packaging line, machined holders made from Meldin 7001 position the plastic cap during the hot welding process that connects the cap to the carton. Meldin 7001 has high heat resistance, up 600°F, excellent machinability, high purity and is available in stock shapes for machining or custom molded components which make it ideal for this application.
