June 7, 2005 - Based on Freescale Semiconductor's ColdFire™ MCF5270 processor, MOD5270 delivers 150 MHz, 32-bit performance in addition to complete tool chain and suite of networking applications. Project wizard lets users create blank network-enabled project, while deployment tools enable over-the-network debugging, field upgrades, and module diagnostics. Along with integrated development environment, product comes with TCP/IP stack, RTOS, Web server, and C/C++ compiler.

NetBurner Introduces Module Based on Freescale MCF5270
SAN DIEGO – May 23, 2005 – NetBurner has introduced the first embedded Ethernet module based on Freescale Semiconductor’s ColdFire™ MCF5270 processor. The MOD5270 boasts 150Mhz 32-bit performance with a complete tool chain and full suite of networking applications, including embedded Ethernet and Serial to Ethernet.
NetBurner has made a business out of simplifying the implementation of embedded Ethernet products. The NetBurner solution provides fully functional hardware, an integrated development environment, a rich library of network API functions and deployment tools. Together, these features ease the development process enabling shorter time to market.
Developers can use a complete set of example projects as a starting point for the end application, or they can use the project wizard to create a blank network-enabled project. The deployment tools enable over-the-network debugging, field upgrades and module diagnostics.
Deployment tool features include network IP address configuration, flash programming and real-time operating system (RTOS) task status reporting. The full-featured TCP/IP stack, RTOS, Web server, C/C++ compiler and deployment tools are included at no additional cost.
The MOD5270 is available March 31, 2005, at a price of $59 in quantity.
