Single Rod Limit Switch is used in bulk solids.

May 26, 2005 - Soliphant T FTM 20/21 detects level limit in fine- or coarse-grained, non-fluidized bulk solids with grain size up to 1 in. Tilted piezo drive, located inside tip of sensor rod, does not contact medium. Mechanically balanced design maximizes resistance to vibration and build-up, resulting in minimal false trips. Permissible process temperature ranges up to 300°F, and process pressure ranges from -14.5 to 362 psi.

Announcing New Single Rod Limit Switch for Bulk Solids

Price-effective sensor for level limit detection

May 25, 2005, Greenwood, Indiana – Endress+Hauser, Inc. introduces the new Soliphant T FTM 20/21, a unique single rod limit switch. Soliphant T is a robust point level switch for fine-grained or coarse-grained, non-fluidized bulk solids.

The SOLIPHANT line has been known for reliability and robustness for decades – these features also apply to the new Soliphant T FTM20/21. There are many single rod sensors in the market but no other offers a new tilted piezo drive located inside the tip of the sensor rod. This safeguards Soliphant T’s unique performance. Soliphant T is mechanically balanced resulting in higher resistance vibration and build-up. This results in fewer false trips.

Decoupling the process connection from the oscillating movement makes the sensor insensitive to external vibration and secures reliable measurement results. The drive is not in contact with the medium which makes it less sensitive to lateral loads and temperature fluctuations. Soliphant T FTM20/21 is a cost-effective sensor for level limit detection in bulk solids up to a grain size of 1" (25 mm). It is available as FTM20 in compact design and as FTM21 with tube extension (20", 40", and 60"). The permissible process temperature ranges up to 300°F (150 °C) and the process pressure ranges from -14.5 to 362psi (-1 to 25bar).

The main applications for Soliphant T are in the primary industries and particularly those involving powdery to coarse-grained bulk solids of all kinds starting with a density of 12.5lb/ft3 (200 g/l). Soliphant T provides safe measurement results even in lumpy or moist media since bridging is not an issue for the single rod probe. With the extensive Soliphant family Endress+Hauser is well prepared for present and future requirements of our customers and their applications.
