New Low-Ash Additive Technology from Lubrizol Benefits Stationary Gas Engine Oils

CLEVELAND, OH, May 20, 2005 – New low-ash additive technology from Lubrizol improves corrosion resistance, wear protection and maintenance intervals for stationary 4-stroke gas engines such as those used for power generation.

Lubrizol® 6885A, field tested on various natural gas and cogeneration engines, offers improved deposit control and cleanliness, minimal oxidation and nitration, thermal oxidative stability and oil life. Enhanced corrosion resistance and wear protection against cylinder and piston scuffing and valve seat wear, also contribute to extended engine life and lower maintenance costs.

The new technology of Lubrizol® 6885A has universal applicability in Group I and II oils and has proven performance in a number of Waukesha and Caterpillar engines in the gas compression and co-generation applications. Treat rate is 9.37 percent by weight.
