May 25, 2005 - Made of acetal with stainless steel hardware for food processing environments, collars are offered in 1- and 2-piece clamp-style designs as well as set screw style. Clamp-style collars will not mar shaft, and design wraps around shaft for optimal holding power. Featuring forged socket hardware, products are single point faced to ensure perpendicularity and proper alignment. Bore sizes range from 1/8–3 in. for inch series and 3–80 mm in metric series.

Ruland Plastic Shaft Collars – Ideal For Food Processing Equipment and Wash-Down Environments
Marlborough, May 2005. Ruland Manufacturing Co., Inc. has expanded its line of shaft collars to include plastic shaft collars. Plastic shaft collars are ideal for food processing equipment, wash-down environments, location purposes, retaining sensors, or as a light duty support. In applications where the holding power of stainless steel collars is not required, plastic shaft collars can be an economical solution.
Ruland plastic collars are made of acetal with stainless steel hardware. The plastic collars are offered in one- and two-piece clamp-style designs as well as in set screw style, with bore sizes from 1/8" to 3" in the inch series and 3mm to 80mm in the metric series. Clamp-style collars have the advantage of not marring the shaft and since they wrap around the shaft, they provide higher holding power. These collars are also more easily adjusted than the more economical set screw type.
Ruland shaft collars are also available in aluminum, black oxide carbon steel and stainless steel. Threaded bore collars are also offered with inch and metric threads. All Ruland shaft collars are single point faced to ensure perpendicularity and proper alignment. Ruland uses forged socket hardware in all its shaft collars, which allows for higher screw torque and increased holding power.
Shaft collars are part of Ruland’s complete product line which also includes rigid couplings and five types of zero-backlash motion control couplings: beam couplings, bellows couplings, oldham couplings, miniature disc couplings and curved jaw couplings.
