Ultrasonic Transducer Set suits hazardous environments.

May 16, 2005 - Intrinsically Safe, clamp-on Series DTTN is certified for use in Class 1 Division 1, Groups C and D hazardous environments. Two high-frequency barriers permit RF signals to transmit back and forth to transducers, while preventing potentially explosive levels of dc or ac voltage from passing through to hazardous area. Transducers are suited for liquid flow measurement on closed fixed pipe systems 2 in. and larger, and are compatible with transit time permanent mount meters.

Dynasonics Introduces New Intrinsically Safe Ultrasonic Transit Time Clamp-On Transducers

Racine, March 1, 2005: The Dynasonics Series DTTN ultrasonic transducer set is now available in a configuration certified for use in Class 1 Division 1, Groups C & D hazardous environments. The Intrinsically Safe (IS) transducer is designed specifically for use in a hazardous atmosphere, such as oil refineries, chemical plants and paint manufacturing, in which flammable gases or explosive dust may be present.

The IS transducer configuration includes a modified set of DTTN transducer heads and an enclosure that contains two high-frequency barriers. The barriers permit the RF signals to transmit back and forth to the transducers, while preventing potentially explosive levels of DC or AC voltage from passing through to the hazardous area. This system has been evaluated and approved by CSA according to the applicable CSA and ANSI/UL standards, and will bear the CSA mark with both the 'C' and 'US' indicators.

This new IS transducer can be paired with any Dynasonics non-portable transit time transmitter box that is capable of using the Series DTTN standard transducers. Installations can be done on liquid flow in full, closed pipe systems 2" and larger.

Additional Product Attributes:

• CSA/UL approved for Class 1 Division 1, Groups C & D hazardous environments

• Easy, cost-effective installation with the ultrasonic clamp-on style transducers

• Compatible with Dynasonics transit time permanent mount meters

• For flow measurement on closed fixed pipe systems 2" and larger
