Qualified per MIL-C-22992, MS90556, and MS90557, the Class L connector is the largest size cylindrical available, offering the greatest capacity. It boasts a current range of 40 to 200 amps, and conductor sizes ranging from 6 to 4/0. The Class L connector is uniquely engineered to optimize safety. It offers an arc quenching design to safeguard users when connectors are separated under load, while its programmed coupling sequence makes sure grounding and neutral contacts engage before the power contacts. At unmating, the power circuits are broken before the ground or neutral circuits. A 5-key polarizing system is employed to preclude the mating of circuits with incompatible power characteristics (voltage, phase and frequency).
