Artificial Neutral Device helps detect current faults.

May 12, 2005 - Model AN-1 generates momentary grounded artificial neutral to allow measurement of fault currents on ungrounded 3-phase systems. Unit is grounded intermittently through relay driven by internal electronic timer, limiting possibility of insulation faults within instrument and allowing for discrimination of actual fault currents. Red LEDs indicate presence of phase voltage and phase fault. Relay closure time is switch selectable at 500 ms or 2.3 sec.

AEMC® Introduces Artificial Neutral

The Artificial Neutral Model AN-1 generates a momentary grounded artificial neutral to allow the measurement of fault currents on ungrounded three-phase systems.

The Artificial Neutral is grounded intermittently through a relay driven by an internal electronic timer. This periodic grounding technique performs three functions - limits the possibility of insulation faults within the instrument, allows for better discrimination of actual fault current and limits instrument overheating. Red LED's indicate the presence of phase voltage and phase faults.

Relay closure time is switch selectable, Fast (500 milliseconds) or Slow (2.3 seconds), so that the ground fault clamp can be used on a meter with either an analog or digital display. An internal buzzer is activated each time the neutral connection is grounded.

When used with a Leakage Current Meter or a Leakage Current Probe and Multimeter, faulty ungrounded systems can be detected.

Price: $649.00
