Process Controller suits seam welding of thin gauge metals.

May 5, 2005 - CSC MIG welding controller utilizes controlled short circuit gas metal arc welding process to clear short circuits by retracting wire from short. Controller syncronizes wire feeder actions with power supply current to continuously feed wire alternatly between forward and reverse directions. Process helps to increase travel speed and eliminate spatter on wide range of materials including steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum.

CSC MIG Welding Process Controller

Irvine, California-February 18, 2005-We are pleased to announce the introduction of the new CSC MIG welding controller. The CSC (Controlled Short Circuit) process is a short circuit GMAW process that was developed to increase travel speed and eliminate spatter on a wide range of materials. GTAW quality welds are created at GMAW travel speeds.

The innovation of the CSC process is that the short circuit is cleared by retracting the wire from the short. The wire, feeding continuously, alternates between forward and reverse directions while the power supply delivers the appropriate current levels for each phase. The wire feeder's actions are precisely synchronized with the power supply by the CSC microprocessor controller.

The CSC process is ideal for seam welding thin gage metals, including steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum, and for various circumferential applications where productivity and quality are both equally important.

The CSC is simple to operate and easy to set up. It can be integrated with a variety of welding fixtures such as the Jetline bench style seam welder, circumferential welders, and weld head locators. Or it can easily be mounted to the customer's existing equipment.

Very high travel speed, low heat input, and spatter free, GTAW quality welds are definite advantages over the standard GMAW process.
