Wireless Reporting Meter Tracks Actual "Run Hours"
An onboard, electronic device that measures the actual "run hours" of virtually unlimited types of equipment (ex.: engines, motors, hydraulic pumps, compressors, etc.) is being introduced by Shockwatch®. The RF Hourmeter sends runtime information via wireless network (802.11 b or g ) to either local or remote computers running the companion management, Java-based software (supports client, server or internet capabilities).
The Shockswitch® RF Hourmeter can monitor three independent inputs such as keyswitch, drive motor, and hydraulic motor. Its alert capabilities tell of maintenance needs due: (ex: oil change, trans service, tire service) and an instant alert capability can activate message delivery process via e-mail. The device is equipped with LED operating status indicators - power on/off, active input, RF (solid) connected to local wireless network, Flashing (not connected), CON (connection established to RF Hourmeter Software).
The new RF Hourmeter from Shockwatch® may be applied on any vehicle or machine (stationary or moving). The wireless reporting capability reduces maintenance costs due to less manpower retrieving information from scattered pieces of equipment, as well as more accurate preventive maintenance. Examples of suitable applications include: forklift trucks, cranes, earthmoving equipment, air compressors, sawmills, welding machines, portable lighting equipment, RV's, boats - even taxicabs. Ideal for rental companies that want to calculate rental charges, or public utilities, municipalities, contractors, commercial farmers and other organizations that would like to schedule maintenance, based on actual operating hours rather than the calendar.
