Dortronics Displays New Weather Resistant Egress Bar

Weather Resistant Switch Contacts Allow More Installation Options

Las Vegas, NV (April 6, 2005) – Dortronics Systems is demonstrating a new egress bar designed for a wide range of installations here at ISC West. Available in several configurations, the new 6495 Series Egress Bar incorporates weather resistant switch contacts for use in environmentally unprotected areas such as parking garages. Required by code as a “no prior knowledge” REX device, Dortronics 6495 Series Egress Bar fits any standard 36” wide door with special width devices available for doors up to 48” wide.

“The 6495 Series Egress Bar is manufactured to deliver the highest levels of safety and security with pleasing aesthetics,” said John FitzPatrick, Vice President, Dortronics Systems, Inc. “Installers favor our egress bars because of the many labor saving features to reduce time and cost and now we have the added value of additional installation options.”

The 6495 Series Egress Bar is available with single or dual contact outputs for REX input to card access systems and use with Dortronics’ EDR-101 Delayed Egress Systems. The devices can also be supplied as a mechanical rim device, complete with built-in single or dual contact switches for use with access controlled electric strikes or alarm monitoring devices. Dortronics 6220 Series Armored Door Cords can also be used with 6495 Series Egress Bars to protect wiring for REX signals being transmitted to the appropriate alarm/control devices.

Imprinted with “push to exit” in an attractive black accent, Dortronics’ 6495 Series Egress Bars are available from stock in standard aluminum with a clear anodized finish and can be ordered in various finishes to match most entrance and exit doors.
