Sony Visual Imaging Products-IMAGE IS EVERYTHING

Sony Visual Imaging Products, a division of Sony Electronics Inc., is a world renowned leader in camera technology. Sony manufactures high quality, industrial CCD video cameras that you can depend upon even in the most demanding applications.

SONY TECHNOLOGY & MARKETS

Sony utilizes innovative technology solutions to meet your evolving needs through high quality, feature rich, benefit driven, easy to use and cost effective video cameras. Behind each is the unrivaled experience, resources, and commitment to excellence of all of Sony’s research and product groups.

Known for its frequent technology first achievements, Sony launched the world’s first mass-market CCD video camera in 1980. Shortly thereafter in 1983, Sony introduced the lightest and smallest CCD camera for industrial use that would evolve into Sony’s extremely popular XC and DXC camera series with special triggering functions. In 1990, Sony introduced the outstanding picture quality of Progressive Scan technology to its camera line up. Continuing as a frontier in camera technology, in the late 1990’s Sony introduced its first generation of IEEE 1394 digital cameras.

Today, Sony is expanding its digital camera series with models that incorporate the IEEE 1394.b interface as well as a new line up of Camera Link® compatible cameras. Now more than ever, you’ll discover an extensive collection of Sony imaging products to choose from:

Camera Link Compatible Cameras

IEEE-1394 and IEEE 1394.b Digital Cameras

Analog Cameras

Color CCD Cameras

High Frame Rate Progressive Scan Cameras

From machine vision, factory automation, microscopy and inspection to security, bioscience and process control, Sony's emphasis is on giving you value, choice and flexibility regardless of your application.

SONY DIGITAL CAMERAS. YOUR EXPRESS LANE ON THE DIGITAL HIGHWAY

The road to digital imaging is now in the fast lane with Sony Camera Link compatible and 1394.b cameras. Being unveiled at the upcoming Vision West 2005 Show, Sony’s newest affordable digital cameras make it easier than ever before to switch from analog to digital.

The XCL-U1000C color digital camera, a member of Sony’s new family of four Camera Link compatible models, incorporates a 1/1.8” progressive scan CCD that produces high-quality UXGA images (1600 x 1200). Whether you’re looking for high resolution, flexible acquisition features or miniature size, you’ll appreciate the image quality and selection of Camera Link compatible models to match your applications perfectly.

Sony’s new XCD-V50 monochrome VGA digital camera features a 1/3” progressive scan CCD with square pixels and a 1394.b interface that supports cables up to 100 meters. A color version (XCD-V50CR) will be available in April 2005. Both models feature 648 x 494 pixel resolution at 60 fps in 8-bit mode. These small digital cameras are ideal drop in replacements for most analog cameras.
