New Cartridge Watering Solution for Forklift Batteries Is on Tap at PROMAT 2005
(Grand Rapids, MI) - Treated tap water for forklift batteries can be always available with the new Niagara De-Ionizer Cartridge from Flow-Rite Controls Ltd. This convenient source for filling forklift batteries as well as other utility vehicles will be introduced in Booth 3613 at PROMAT 2005.
The Niagara cartridge is ideal for busy fleets, providing 10% more de-ionized water than its leading competitor. This ion-exchange unit electro-statically removes dissolved impurities, providing water comparable to much more expensive distilled water for longer vehicle battery life.
Hard water creates a hard time for batteries. Metals and salts can affect cell voltage, cause the battery to self discharge and lead to mossing and dendrite growth though the separators. These additives are dissolved solids that cannot be conventionally filtered out of the water.
The Niagara cartridge uses de-ionized technology, which is normally considered to be rather inexpensive, and offers it in a low cost unit. This design allows regular tap water to be passed through the cartridge.
When the cartridge becomes exhausted simply dispose and replace with a new one. Compared to battery replacement cost, the Niagara cartridge is a smart investment.
For convenience, optional direct fill capability is available. Competitive models can only fill a cart or run a watering gun.
Depending on tap water quality, the Niagara cartridge can provide an average of 600 gallons of purified water at a cost of pennies per gallon - ranging from more capacity to less based on the water going into it. With a 36 volt battery typically needing over a gallon of water every week, one Niagara cartridge can handle any size fleet.
The Niagara cartridge features easy installation and usage. It mounts in no time. A continuous light indicates at a glance that the cartridge is usable. As soon as the light goes out the cartridge is ready for replacement.
