Halogen Reflector Lamps fit existing bi-pin fixtures.
April 21, 2005 - MINISTAR™ lamps, suited for use even in unshielded luminaires, utilize silver coating that reduces thermal load on luminaire by directing heat outward. They can be used in accent and display case lighting fixtures as well as track, pendant, recessed, and wall sconce fixtures. With average rated life of 2,000 hr, products are available in axial versions from 20–35 W and side reflector versions from 10–20 W with color temperatures from 2,900–3,000 K.

Osram Introduces Ministar – The World’s Smallest Halogen Reflector Lamp
New York, N.Y. (April 12-14, 2005) – OSRAM is giving halogen lamps a new look yet again with the introduction of MINISTAR™, the world’s smallest low voltage halogen reflector lamp. The extremely small size of the MINISTAR lamp allows for its incorporation into sleeker, more compact and innovative luminaire designs. Due to the use of low pressure capsules, the lamps are suitable for use even in unshielded luminaires.
Lamps are available in axial versions from 20 to 35-watts and side reflector versions from 10 to 20 watts. These lamps utilize a high-tech silver coating that not only looks brilliant, but also reduces the thermal load on the luminaire by directing the heat outward. The average rated life for MINISTAR lamps is 2,000 hours and the color temperature ranges from 2900-3000K.
“The MINISTAR is a revolution in halogen reflector lamps. It’s incredibly small and allows for really exciting design possibilities. The lamp will bring about some amazing new luminaires. I’m already starting to see some fabulous products hitting the market for these lamps,” said Bill O’Connell, senior applications engineer for halogen. “The size of the lamps will allow for such miniscule fixtures, they will almost disappear into the overall lighting design.”
