April 21, 2005 - Compact, 6-axis RV-3S and 5-axis RV-3SJ robots are IP65 rated and feature 64-bit RISC/DSP multi-tasking controller. They offer arm compliance, collision detection, and position restoration, in addition to maintenance forecasting and ANSI safety compliance. Operating at speeds to 5,500 mm/sec, robots have reach of 642 mm and payload capacities to 3 kg. Also offered in clean room versions, products are suited for laboratory and assembly automation.

Rixan Associates Introduces New Mitsubishi RV-3S (6-Axis) and RV-3SJ (5-Axis) Series Robots Featuring Compact Footprint, Higher Payload, Speed and Improved Repeatability

DAYTON, Ohio (April, 2005)---The all new compact and powerful RV-3S (6-axis) and RV-3SJ (5-axis) Series robots (which replace Mitsubishi’s current RV-2A and RV-3AJ models) are now available from Rixan Associates, the authorized North American Distributor for Mitsubishi Robots according to Stephen Harris, President of Rixan.
Harris commented, "The new RV-3S and RV-3SJ 3kg payload models are the ultimate in compact, affordable robots. They are the fastest robots in their class featuring speeds of up to 5,500mm/sec. Additionally, these new robots offer many other improved performance features over the RV-2A and RV3AJ models including improved repeatability of +/-0.020mm, a longer reach at 641mm as well as an improved range of motion. We are now taking orders for this robot which is very affordably and competitively- priced for a robot of its speed, payload and precision capabilities."
The RV-3S and RV-3SJ Series are IP65 rated. Other advanced functions include a 64-bit RISC/DSP multi-tasking controller; arm compliance; collision detection; position restoration; maintenance forecasting and full ANSI safety compliance. Clean room versions are also available.
The new series robots are recommended for use in laboratory automation; machine tool tending; assembly automation; injection-molding machine tending; small part deburring; automated dispensing and in educational systems.
