Electric Actuator modulates loads up to 8,000 lb-ft.
May 2, 2005 - Suited for large fan dampers typical of utility FD and ID applications, Group 22 Control Drive provides positioning of final control elements with resolution down to 0.1% of span. It is fully enclosed in weatherproof housing rated for service environments from -40 to +185°F. On-board control module feeds drive's motor windings directly, eliminating external motor starters and controls. Drive does not coast or overshoot, and will not overheat under continuous modulation.

Newtown PA (April 11, 2005) – Harold Beck & Sons, Inc. announces the release of its new high-torque Group 22 control drive (electric actuator), designed for reliable, high performance positioning of final control elements in critical applications. Ideally suited for use on large fan dampers typical of utility FD and ID applications, the new Group 22 is capable of precisely modulating loads up to 8,000 lb-ft (10,850 N-m) of torque. The Group 22 is fully enclosed in a compact, weatherproof housing. It provides positioning resolution down to 0.1% of span, and is rated for service environments from –40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C).
The Group 22 drive offers the excellent performance and maintenance-free design common to all Beck actuators, plus the flexibility and superior features afforded by microprocessor-based electronics. The unique Beck design allows for precise control, with low current draw and no duty-cycle limitations. The on-board control module feeds the drive’s motor windings directly, completely eliminating external motor starters and controls. The drive does not coast or overshoot, and will not overheat even under continuous modulation. The control module includes many features and functions such as variable speed operation, communications capabilities and diagnostics.
Headquartered in Newtown, Pennsylvania, USA, Harold Beck & Sons, Inc. designs and manufacturers a full line of electric actuators for precise control of dampers, valves, fluid couplings and other final control elements in high-value processes. Since 1936, Beck drives have earned a reputation in electric utility, pulp/paper, steel, aluminum, cement, glass, mineral, and other industries for outstanding performance, reliability and value.
