Toshiba Medical Systems Launches Combined PET/CT Scanner
Tokyo - Toshiba Medical Systems has begun marketing the Aquiduo PCA-7000B, a combined PET/CT scanner with a movable gantry, in Japan. The new product, which features a lutetium oxyorthosilicate (LSO) detector for the PET unit and a 16-multislice CT scanner, can create high-resolution images.
The movable gantry has openings of 72cm and 70cm in diameter for PET and CT scanning, respectively, alleviating patients’ anxiety and stress during scanning.
The system sells for 1,722 million yen ($16.0 mil). Toshiba Medical Systems expects to sell 30 units annually.
