New ROPAK™ 65 Inch Extended Length Container from LINPAC Materials Handling Features Several Design Enhancements

GEORGETOWN, KY (April 1, 2005) - The new ROPAK(TM) 65" Extended Length reusable, collapsible container from LINPAC Materials Handling is now available. Specially designed to handle long and hard-to-fit parts, the new 65" Extended Length features a 64.5" x 48" footprint, plus an extensive array of design enhancements for greater handling flexibility.

The 65" Extended Length features a one-piece base with a steel strap bolted in for increased rigidity and strength, and is available in six heights (19", 25", 33", 34", 42" and 50"). Maximum capacity is 2000 lbs. (907 kg). The containers can be stacked up to 5-high without racking, either upright or collapsed.

All container heights, except the 19" model, feature non-sequential folding sidewalls, allowing the container to collapse to a fraction of its height for more compact storage and shipping when empty.

The sidewalls are secured by universal latches that can be operated from both outside and inside the container. "The new 65" Extended Length uses universal latches for improved user convenience," explains Todd Turner, senior product engineer at LINPAC Materials Handling. "These latches allow the operator to reach through the inside of the container to collapse the sidewalls in any order they wish, eliminating travel around the container in a pre-determined sequence. This saves time and increases productivity."

The 65" Extended Length containers also feature four-way forklift entry, and a versatile array of sidewall configurations, allowing users to specify hinged drop doors in up to all four sides of the container for easier access to contents. Additionally, for easier identification of those contents, the 65" Extended Length container offers up to four label areas per sidewall.

The entire ROPAK line of Extended Length containers was originally designed to hold the longer parts commonly found in the automotive industry-including interior and exterior trim, body side moldings, headlights, and drive shafts. These containers, including the 65" Extended Length, are now used in a wide array of industries, including plastics, textile and metalworking.

The 65" Extended Length container is RFID-ready and, as with all LINPAC Materials Handling products, its workmanship and materials are guaranteed with a three-year warranty. It may be recycled at the end of its useful life. LINPAC Materials Handling also offers a variety of logistics solutions to help customers better manage their handling and transportation needs.

LINPAC Materials Handling manufactures ROPAK(TM) reusable bulk containers and totes. These products are used in warehousing, manufacturing, transportation, distribution and merchandising to replace single trip paper, cardboard and metal packaging. Made of premium grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and copolymer polypropylene (CPP) for durability, LINPAC containers and totes are available in a wide variety of configurations and weight capacities.

LINPAC Materials Handling products serve in a variety of industries, including automotive, plastics, chemicals, textiles, industrial equipment, beverage, fresh produce, meat, poultry and retail grocery. A full range of design, implementation, financial and support services is available.
