Economical PS41 Pressure Switch Family Features Piston/Diaphragm Design

PLAINVILLE, CT. The PS41 Series of pressure switches, now available from Gems Sensors, incorporates two design principles to achieve excellent performance characteristics. PS41 switches utilize an internal piston to allow high proof pressure, while gaining sensitivity and accuracy from a diaphragm media interface. Repeatability is ±2% of the full set point range of 3 to 100 psi (0.2 to 7 bar) while delivering a 350 psi proof pressure.

PS41 pressure switches are compact—the largest body is 1.25ā€ in diameter. They are also one of Gems’ lowest cost pressure sensors. This makes these miniature pressure switches ideal where space and/or price are strong concerns. Typical applications include monitoring coolants in machine tools, transmissions in off-highway vehicles, and as back up to transducer-based monitoring systems.

This series offers a large degree of configurability when specified. Brass or stainless body material, a choice of six pressure port sizes (NPT, BSP, SAE; beginning at 1/8ā€), three SPST and SPDT switch circuits, and three set point ranges are among a customerā€˜s choices. The diaphragm may be specified in Viton®, neoprene or EPDM material. Electrical terminations include flying leads or cable with or without conduit connections, DIN and micro DIN connectors, and spade terminals.

Operating temperatures for this series is –40°F to +180°F. The electrical switch is rated to 5A @ 12/24 VDC and 125/25 VAC; optional gold contacts increase rating to 10A. PS41 switches carry CE and UL approvals.

Celebrating its 50th year of designing and manufacturing ā€œSmarter Products, Better Solutionsā„¢ā€, Gems Sensors is shaping the future of fluid sensing. Gems is a preferred supplier to thousands of companies serving the OEM, MRO, Process, Environmental, and Marine industries because of its innovative approach to sensor design, applications, and problem solving to meet customer-specific needs. Gems Sensors is a leading global manufacturer of liquid level, flow, and pressure sensors and solid-state relays and barriers.
