Air/Gas Flow Sensor features integrated Fieldbus interface.

April 11, 2005 - Model SS 20.60 offers measuring range up to 160 m/s and delivers values in Kg/hr or m³/min. Fieldbus interface makes it suited for large installations with high number of sensors. Bus cabling is fed through screwed cable glands and is wired internally via screw terminals. Applications include combustion-air control in gas, coal or oil burners; volume flow measurements in nitrogen or other passivation gases; and compressed-air consumption measurements.

SCHMIDT® Flow Sensor SS 20.60 FB with Integrated Field Bus

SCHMIDT Technology has enhanced the well-proven family of air and gas flow sensors SS 20.60 by sensors with integrated filed bus interface. Especially in large installations with a high number of sensors this reduces significantly the wiring complexity. The sensor delivers ready prepared measuring values like Kg/hr oder m3/min and thus disburdens the supervising PLC. Additionally the sensor gives access to it´s status information and allows the PLC to inform the user about de-fects of the sensor. The bus cabling is fed through screwed cable glands and is wired internally via screw terminals. Crew terminals and bus address switches can be accessed after opening the top cover. Despite of the increased eletronic ther housing of the sensor remained very compact. Applications: combustion-air control in gas, coal or oil burners as well as in fuel cells, volume flow measurements in nitrogen or other passivation gases, compressed-air consumption measurements, volume flow measurements in biological waste water treatment. Technical data: design: immersion sensor with attached transformer. application: tubes from 25 to 1.000 mm, Measuring range up to 160 m/s, pressure: up to 16 bar o.p. mounting, : ½ inch throughpassage, power sup-ply: 24 VDC / approx. 150 mA Available field bus interfaces: Profibus DP, Device Net.
