IBM XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0.1 for Linux(TM) and IBM XL Fortran Advanced Edition V9.1.1 for Linux are enhanced and now support the following Linux distributions:

On an IBM eServer® OpenPower(TM), BladeCenter(TM) JS20, p5, pSeries®, i5 or iSeries(TM) system:

SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9) for IBM POWER(TM)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4 (RHEL4), IBM eServer iSeries, and IBM eServer pSeries Edition

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 Update 3 (RHEL3), IBM eServer iSeries, and IBM eServer pSeries Edition

On an Apple Power Mac G5 or Xserve G5 system: Terra Soft Solutions' Y-HPC v20050115 (Y-HPC)

With this update of XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0.1 for Linux and XL Fortran Advanced Edition V9.1.1 for Linux, additional Linux distributions are supported to allow further flexibility in choosing the distribution that fits your needs. These industry standards-based compiler programs, with extensive IBM optimization technology, offer powerful development environments to build 32-bit and 64-bit C/C++ and Fortran applications.

This update of XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0.1 for Linux and XL Fortran Advanced Edition V9.1.1 for Linux also includes support for Vector Multimedia Extension (VMX) with automatic SIMD vectorization. The VMX support is available for SLES9, RHEL4, and Y-HPC running on hardware that supports both VMX and one of the noted Linux distributions.
