March 17, 2005 - Tabletop universal testing machine series eXpert 450x are offered in actuator/controller (no load frame)-only configuration and 2-column model. All models feature top-mounted, detachable actuator with optional seal kit for use in harsh environments. Configured for tension, compression, and bend tests from under 1 lb to 1,000 lb, machines are offered with 225 lb, 25 ipm; 700 lb, 7 ipm; and 1,000 lb, 2.2 ipm motor/gear packages.

ADMET Introduces New eXpert 450x Testing Machine Versions

NORWOOD, Mass. – March 1, 2005 – ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, has introduced new models based on its single column eXpert 450x tabletop universal testing machine which feature a unique top mounted detachable actuator. The new offerings include an actuator/controller (no load frame) only configuration and a two-column model for use with ovens and large samples that cannot be accommodated in the single column machine.

“We’ve found that the eXpert 450x is a cost effective solution for testing materials in unusual environments; for testing samples in horizontal, vertical and any orientation in between; and for accommodating a variety of test sample geometries,” said Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president. “That’s why we previously introduced a detachable base and special actuator seal kits for use in harsh environments. Now, we’re taking the next step with a completely customizable component system.”

The ADMET eXpert 450's flexible configuration options support custom setups.

ADMET’s component approach allows test engineers to integrate ADMET’s standardized force testing system -- that can be calibrated and certified -- with the custom fixturing required to do specialized materials/product testing. Laboratories can rely on ADMET and its partner service providers to service and support the test system’s key components.

By enabling users to remove and relocate the controller from the base, ADMET facilitates testing materials in wet or dusty/abrasive environments that may damage the electronics. The optional neoprene bellows seal kit completely protects the actuator from liquid, dust or fiber infiltration. This feature substantially reduces maintenance and maintains accuracy in harsh environments.

The eXpert 450x can be configured for tension, compression and bend tests ranging from less than 1 lb to 1,000 lb. A choice of 225 lb and 25 in/min, 700 lb and 7 in/min and 1,000 lb and 2.2 in/min motor/gear packages are available.

All eXpert 450x models are available immediately directly from ADMET and from ADMET representatives. Pricing for the actuator/controller only configuration starts at $3,750. Pricing for the dual column model starts at $5,400.
