Oil Skimmer removes up to 40 gph of oil from liquids.

March 17, 2005 - Oil Grabber® Model 8˛ uses belt to attract oil and other hydrocarbon liquids from fluid's surface. Contaminants are then scraped off side of belt and discharged. Unit provides optimal operation in fluctuating depths up to 100 ft or more. Since endless belt is available in almost any length and tail pulley is free riding, skimmer can accommodate any height requirement. It also serves as pretreatment before filtration and can be used with coalescing systems.

Abanaki Oil Grabber® Model 8˛ Removes Up To 40 gph Of Oil from Liquids

CLEVELAND, OH, March 14, 2005 – Abanaki Corporation, the world leader in oil skimming products, has upgraded its widely used Oil Grabber® oil skimmer with a Model 8˛. With more than 30 years of field-proven experience, oil skimmers represent the most effective and least costly method of removing oil from water in almost any type of application.

The rugged Model 8˛ oil skimmer’s design is based on the company’s proprietary belt skimming process. The Oil Grabber’s belt attracts oil and other hydrocarbon liquids from the fluid’s surface, where the contaminants are then scraped off the sides of the belt and easily discharged.

The Oil Grabber Model 8˛ features:

• Large capacity for oil removal, up to 40 gallons per hour

• Optimal operation even in fluctuating depths, up to 100 feet or more

• Single unit design for fast installation and minimal maintenance

• Small footprint for easy mounting with no tank modifications in most applications

• Available options to accommodate the most turbulent liquids

The unit also serves as an effective pretreatment before filtration and can be used in conjunction with coalescing systems.

Because the endless belt is available in almost any length and the tail pulley is free riding, the skimmer can be furnished to accommodate any height requirement, depending on the depth of the liquid to be cleaned and the distance the oily residue is to be raised.

The oil skimmer also is available in a heated model for use in external applications or anywhere low temperatures tend to solidify oily wastes, in any application involving removal of oil, grease, or fat which tends to solidify at ambient temperatures. Units are also available with belts of special materials to withstand high alkaline or high acid solutions (pH 1 - pH 14).

For more information about the Abanaki Oil Grabber Model 82 contact: Chris Ott at (440) 543-7400 or (800) 358-SKIM (7546), or by e-mail: cott@abanaki.com. See the full line of Abanaki products and services online at www.abanaki.com/016.

About Abanaki Corporation: Abanaki, the world leader in oil skimmer products, manufactures a wide range of products to remove oils, greases, solvents, and related hydrocarbons from water. Besides off-the-shelf oil and grease skimmers, Abanaki supplies custom designed (turnkey) pollution control systems for a wide variety of applications. Headquartered in Cleveland Ohio, Abanaki has served a global customer base in industries as diverse as iron and steel, wastewater, paper, food processing, automotive, environmental remediation, and recycling for more than 30 years.
