Dok-Guardian™ Safety Barrier Common Member Makes Multiple Loading Dock Installs Easy
MILWAUKEE--The Rite-Hite Aftermarket Corporation introduced the Dok-Guardian™ Safety Barrier Common Member option today.
The Dok-Guardian Common Member design makes installing multiple units, which are adjoined or connected at the loading dock, easier and less expensive to install.
The Dok-Guardian Safety Barrier increases loading dock safety by helping protect employees and material handling equipment from falling off vacant loading docks.
“The Dok-Guardian provides a four-foot high visual barrier across the door opening that dock personnel can easily see,” Rite-Hite Aftermarket President and CEO Paul Maly said. “And with the Dok-Guardian common member design, you can now ‘daisy-chain’ many units together easily.”
The Dok-Guardian Common Member is available for both the heavy-duty model, SB-5000, and the light-duty model, SB-2500 units. The SB-5000 common member guards are 47-inches tall and are made from 1/4-inch steel, while the SB-2500 guards are also 47-inches tall, but made from 3/16-inch steel.
Both common member guards are powder-coat painted safety yellow for high visibility, and have integral latching brackets made from 1/4-inch steel. The common member guards can also provide excellent door track protection when trailers are being loaded or unloaded.
In addition, both common member units have a small footprint to help maximize loading dock space. The footprint of the SB-5000 common member is 16-inches wide and 15-inches deep, while the SB-2500 common member footprint is 16-inches wide and 11-inches deep.
The Dok-Guardian Safety Barrier is a red PVC coated fiberglass curtain that manually extends across an opening up to 11’5” wide to help prevent employees and material handling equipment from falling off a vacant dock. When the Dok-Guardian Safety Barrier is manually placed in the active position, it provides a 44-inch tall highly visible barrier that can stop a 10,000-pound fork truck traveling up to 4 miles per hour with little or no damage to the safety barrier.
