March 23, 2005 - Suited for enterprise users, Presto! WMS (Wireless Multimedia System) uses Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g technology to broadcast screen-captured images or MPEG 1 and 2 files from Wi-Fi enabled PCs or notebooks to multiple PCs, notebooks, or VGA/XVGA projectors. It presents content at 15+ fps, allowing users to share, in real-time, oversized video, image files, and PowerPoint files with embedded animation and video clips.

NewSoft Unveils Presto! WMS (Wireless Multimedia System) at Intel Developer Forum in USA

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 1, 2005) - Today, at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), NewSoft, a leading provider of innovative business and consumer software, announced its latest wireless system for enterprise users, Presto! WMS (Wireless Multimedia System). An innovative wireless broadcast application, Presto! WMS implements the latest Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g technology to provide users with the freedom to broadcast screen-captured images, MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 files from any Wi-Fi enabled PC or notebook, to multiple PCs, notebooks or VGA /XVGA projectors incorporating a hardware Wi-Fi receiver adapter. NewSoft's high performance algorithm detects the differential regions of the screen resulting in the system's ability to present content at more than 15 frames per second on average for 11a/g. As a result, users can wirelessly share oversized video, image files, even PowerPoint files with embedded animation and video clips, in real-time.

Presto! WMS users can easily search information provided by senders through the channel scanning method and communication protocol without worrying about wireless parameters and settings. Each user can also record the presentation materials to a DVD disk for later review.

Ideal for sharing both presentations and entertainment content, NewSoft's Presto! WMS is easy to set-up, enabling users to configure a wireless environment in just a few steps. Presto! WMS let's users share screen-captured images, graphics and video clips in real-time. Presto! WMS supports both MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 file broadcasting, utilizing real-time trans-coding into the transport stream to ensure a quality transmission.

To virtually guarantee a user-friendly interface, Presto! WMS supports standard universal remote control units for quick and easy operation. Multiple channels on the same frequency can be used to transmit to multiple receivers with the simple installation of an external DVB-T receiver device. By incorporating NewSoft's Presto! PVR, users are able to view and edit AV/TV content on their PCs or notebooks whenever and where ever convenient to them utilizing the PVR's time-shifting, recording and burning functions.
