Ready-to-Mount Bearing Units use concentric locking system.
March 17, 2005 - ConCentra products utilize concentric locking technology, which eliminates potential uneven load distribution, shaft damage, and fretting corrosion during equipment operation. Ball bearing units incorporate SKF deep groove ball bearings, pre-lubricated for life or with lubrication fittings, while roller bearing units use SKF Explorer spherical bearings pre-lubricated with lubrication fittings. Design facilitates installation and removal and minimizes vibration.

SKF® ConCentra Bearing Units Ready-To-Mount For Reliability And Cost Savings
Integrating an Innovative Concentric Locking System:
SKF® ConCentra bearing units offer ready-to-mount ball and roller bearing solutions for a wide range of industry applications. These pre-lubricated bearings in solid housings integrate an innovative easy-to-use concentric locking system, which properly and securely grips the circumference of a shaft to promote optimized functioning, trouble-free operation, and longer service life.
Advantages include easy installation and removal for time and cost savings; reduced vibration for consistent performance; high-quality sealing options for protection against contaminants; and commercial grade and re-usable shafting, which eliminates any need or associated costs in an assembly for specially machined and expensive ground or polished shafts.
Applications range from air-handling equipment (for ball units) to conveyors (for roller units), among countless others.
ConCentra bearing units install quickly and easily. Once the bearing is correctly located on a shaft, mounting screws are tightened, axially displacing two paired precision-engineered serrated rings. The paired rings grip the shaft as the internal clearance in the bearing is reduced and expand evenly around the entire shaft circumference for a reliable fit. Shaft tolerances as low as ISO h9/IT5 can be used.
True concentric locking technology eliminates potential uneven load distribution, shaft damage, fretting corrosion, and risk of imbalance and vibrations during equipment operation.
ConCentra ball bearing units for high-speed applications incorporate SKF deep groove ball bearings either pre-lubricated for life or with lubrication fittings. Roller bearing units designed for use in applications with high radial loads benefit from SKF Explorer spherical bearings pre-lubricated with lubrication fittings. High-quality seals serve to prevent contamination, enhance grease retention, and minimize maintenance.
All ConCentra bearing units are available in a range of shaft diameters, flange and housing variations, and speed and load ratings. Customized bearing units can be developed to satisfy particular application requirements.
