Blanket Insulation wraps around sheet metal duct exterior.

March 11, 2005 - Composed of glass fibers bonded together with thermosetting resin, SoftTouch™ Duct Wrap Insulation helps control heat loss or gain and condensation during HVAC system operation. Ductwork enclosed in duct wrap handles conditioned air at temperatures from 35 to 250°F (faced) or 35 to 450°F (unfaced). Faced duct wrap is available with FSK or vinyl film vapor retarder facing. Both faced products include 2 in. wide stapling and taping tab to facilitate installation.

CertainTeed's SoftTouch™ DuctWrap Blankets-Type insulation for Exterior of Sheet Metal Duct

CertainTeed's SoftTouch™ Duct Wrap Insulation is a resilient blanket insulation composed of glass fibers bonded together with thermosetting resin that is easily fit and installed on HVAC duct work. The re-formulated duct wrap is softer to the touch, less irritating, and simpler to cut. SoftTouch Duct Wrap Insulation helps control heat loss or gain and condensation during HVAC system operation. Ductwork enclosed in the duct wrap can handle conditioned air at temperatures from 35° F. to 250° F. for faced duct wrap and 35° F. to 450° F. for unfaced wrap. The faced duct wrap is available with either an FSK or vinyl film vapor retarder facing. The FSK facing is a glass scrim reinforced laminate of aluminum foil and kraft paper, bonded together with a flame-retardant adhesive. The vinyl film facing is available in the colors of white or gray. Both faced products include a 2-in.-wide stapling and taping tab on one edge for ease of installation.
